k have a question currently reformatting someone's laptop but it keeps dying like whenever its left on, I have the power cord plugged into the PC, so its not like its relying on its battery, so any ideas of what it could be?
unplug the battery. reboot. dies again, try differant plug. dies again, unplug and replug power cord.
It's overheating.
solution to prevent overheating? wut do u use for urs some fan or somethingKurazoo wrote:

there's usually a fan inside. i can't tell you to clear the ducts, because laptops are srsly complex.
still dying? look for a port that vents from the sides, or back - see if somethings blocking the air coming out.

that vent i was talking about? may or may not look like a little grate. i've used a sharpened pencil to see if there was anything blocking it, usually dust. then i'd tear the laptop apart, and thats why i said i can't advocate doing that, because they're a bitch.
let me know if that didn't work . . .

a little warm is ok, heat will kill.

k I open the place where the processor is and cleaned it using it the compressed air but ran out of compressed air, then decided to go with the cotton swabs to remove some of that dirt since it was filthy.
