Have you tried running BF2VoiceSetup.exe in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2. The other thing i noticed was that windows has a habit of muting the mic. Check in control panel, sounds and audio devices, advanced, recording properties and see if the mic is selected.
Hope this helps.

i have that prob too. When i join a server it shows my mic icon then when i transmit it disables, It really sucks, Its gotta be on my new pc though, because my old one it works fine so i dunno
not got anything that will help you boris, but i noticed that with patch 1.21, i could no longer use the VoIP manage thing which is built into the Audio options menu. I can no longer adjust my mic using this, and have to use the VoIP setup inside the Battlefield folder. It is as if the built in version of the game doesnt recognise my mic, however the VoIP does work in the game when i am playing.
maybe it is another sort of bug which no one has mentioned or picked up on before?

I did find when using onboard sound card AC97 that i could get the mic to work on the bf2voicesetup.exe and it would work when running the ingame test, however in game it would not work. I found in the end that every time i ran the ingame test it disabled the mic in windows sound panel. Ended up just using bf2voicesetup.exe and using the sound control panel to select the mic. It worked after that and i was using the windows mic boost tick box as well.
will keep thinking.
will keep thinking.
Let me add another twist into the VOIP oddity.
My VOIP at home works flawlessly. With a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS I have had zero problems.
My VOIP on another computer does not work but 25% of the time. This computer has built in AC97 decoder built into the motherboard. There is no way for me to add a sound card of anytype because it's a flex case (uber small case made for workstations). I've tried the bf2voicessetup.exe multiple times. I've checked the sound config in Windows. I replaced the Audio.dll file in BF2. The Mic works fine in tests in Windows and it works fine for Teamspeak. Yet in the game it will work at first for about 5 min. Then it will stop working. When I then do to the audio settings I will notice that VOIP is turned off suddenly. It's like it forgets it was ever setup. This is during game play in the middle of a game.
Something is very wrong with BF2's VOIP. I have never seen a feature so fucked up before in my life. Usually something either works or it doesn't. NEVER have I seen a feature work and then in the middle of a game magically screw itself and not work ever again unless bf2voicessetup.exe is run again.
I hate this game's VOIP function. It just plain sucks and I'm pissed that it's the best form of communication the game has hands down.

And that's why I use Teamspeak.

is your mic working at all? Try just using the mic to make and audio file in windows first...maybe the Mic part of the headset is not working...just an idea.
Mic works Fine, also works when I test it in VOIPsetup.exe also checked make sure it's not muted, Mic works fine in TeamSpeak. strange thing happend 2day It worked on server for about 10 mins then Speaker icon just vanished for no reasonStickyBombs wrote:

Yeah man that is pretty strange...I would enable the MIC boost on the windows sound manager...also I would check to make sure your headset doesn't have a mute setting on it...The only other thing you can try is just to re-install BF2. I know it sucks but I have had to do it from time to time. I hope this helps bud!!!badhq wrote:

same here...
This is exactly what happens with my 2nd computer. The odd thing is this. Yesterday it worked through every single game on a certain server. But the moment I left that server and started another one it broke again. So not only is there something odd going on on the client side there also might be something odd going on on the server side as well.badhq wrote:
