Oblivion crashing

Oblivion crashing

I have tried to do another run through of Oblivion but after 10 or 15 mintiest the game constantly crashes. I have the latest non shivering iles patch.

Specs
Windows XP 32bit
Phenom II 955
4870 1GB
4GB DDR3 1600

So does any one have any ideas

Are you running any mods?

How high are your graphics settings?

Are you doing the same thing each time it crashes?

No it seems to crash randomly. No mods unless you count knights of the nine but even with that uninstalled the game still crashes, I tried running high settings with Bloom and AA still crashed HDR it crashed, even on all low it crashes.

If it helps I run it at 1680x1050 but I have tried other resolutions

Are you running Steam and/or Xfire in the background? I'm certain that if you're running Xfire and Oblivion, that it will cause crashes, but Steam might do it too.

I will give shutting steam down a try. I also got the latest driver for my graphics

You've got me stumped then the only other advice I can give is try the TES Nexus forums and hope they can help.

Install Morrowind instead, much better then Oblivion imo.
