Ive been playing for almost a year and have been, for the most part, pleased with my experience, but I did think of an interesting improvement the other day which i thought was worth of mention.  In the Voice options you can check a box that makes all phrases like, Enemy Spotted, Medic!! and Get ammo here, are spoken in English no matter what team your on.  I check this box so that when im playing something other than USMC i know what the hell is going on around me, but the thing about this option is it also makes the apposing team speak in english and when you are near enemies you can understand what they are saying too.
Wouldnt it be nice if you could check a box so that the game only translated what your team said and all other languages would be kept in tack, that way if u heard someone around the corner speaking chinese and u were on the USMC team u would know to come around the corner with your gun blazing.  I thing this feature would bring a nice bit of added realism to the chaotic battlefield.

It would be a nice touch, I agree.  While we're offering suggestions.  I've never understood why there isn't a voice-over such as "Enemy UAV Spotted" (could prove useful in making everyone aware that their positions are compromised or to try and destroy the uav), "Cover Me" or "Repairing Assests" (would prevent your commander from wasting supply drops).

If I had to choose out of all of those I'd love to see "Cover Me" included.  So many times I could've used some covering fire while I ran to another position.

Nothing could top "No way, man!" for me, but maybe "Holy shit!  We're taking fire!"

I'd like to see the addition of several 'orders' for the SL; things like, 'On me!', 'Look sharp, hostiles nearby' (for those times you can hear them but not see them), plus 'Taking fire!'

Especially the last two. But 'Go Go Go' is a bit vague. Even if it is fun to stand near a jet taking off while commander and yell it...

ok, i am obviously completely retarded, because i don't understand the suggestion.

you tick the box that makes everyone speak english. check
there is a problem with this - it makes everyone sound the same, so you can't tell friend from foe around corners. check

but then you want only your team translated, so that the other team stays untranslated. so that if you're chinese, you get translated, but you're opponent (the usmc doesn't)... ok, you lost me. the usmc is english no matter what you tick.

if you're on the usmc team - there's no translation because you're already speaking english, so why have that box ticked, making chinese also speak english? are you saying you're too lazy to untick the box when you start as usmc, or what?

someone enlighten me.

Uh, for one you can't un-check the box after you started a game. You must disconnect, un-check it, then load again.

Just play the game normally. It doesn't take long to learn all of the Chinese and Iraqi (or whatever) phrases. You'll learn them quick after you die of a gernade shortly after hearing a phrase.

Then maybe translate but with a Chinese or a Middle Eastern accent!

I personally like the "Hey" verbal emote from Black Hawk Down. Great for scaring the shit out of a sniper hiding  off in the middle of no where before you knife them.

right, thanks - i didn't know that because i have never tried, as i like the untranslated voices. so what is being suggested is that only the team you are using is translated, if necessary? ok i'm with it now (i think), sorry.

k i know what the OP means but if your on the chinese team and have the box checked for english, what good would that do since your playing against the US which is the english team. so you would be hearing your team in english (when you're actually on the chinese team) but you would also be hearing english from the american team. in regular BF2 this would be useless. the only thing i see where this would be relevant would be in SF, where you have the rebels against spetnaz.

on a side note i think "cover me" or even a "grenade" would be a cool edition to add.

haha every get ran the fuck over in single player....the first time I played the game i laughed my ass off at the computers reaction. the barell over you at full speed only to stop and say "sorry cheif." As far as imporvements, I can see where you are coming from. I do feel, however, that phrases in other languages aren't hard to figure out.  I think we could use alot more sounds though.  At least it would make spot spamming a little bit more intresting. It really drives me nuts somtimes (to the point of no way man repeatedly for a few min. straight.)
