Looking to get this running a wee bittie faster, so I'm looking to upgrade the ram.

It says on the product specification that it supports up to 4GB DDR2

This is my laptop.

It's got 2 slots, so I want 2x2GB.

Can someone recommend the fastest cheapest ram that I can buy for it?

I found this, but I'm looking for some advice before I buy.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I would warn against using Corsair SO-DIMMs.

They seem flakier than usual to me.

I had two Corsair 256MB sticks in my last laptop, which worked fine from the day I got it to the day I sold it. However, that was in 2004, and I have no idea of how their laptop RAM is today. Perhaps it's better to be on the safe side and go Kingston, for a pound more.

Right, on it.

How much of a difference will the extra 3GB make? I'm running Vists Basic.

Yup. Kingston SO-DIMMs are usually rock solid.

If you're running Vista on 1GB, the difference will be humongous.

And yes, go Kingston. It can't go wrong with them.

Your laptop only has 1 GB and a single core? How much did you pay for it? £20?
