I recently had to reinstall both BF2 and BF2:SF.... relax.... there's a good reason for it.... a new mobo/DDR2/SATA/Pentium D cause it...not the new patch!

However, I reinstalled both vanilla and SF, patched it using the MONSTER 1.22 updater, and now have a weird problem whenever I boot-up the game.  For some reason, when logging into the account server the game automatically selects "Play Now" and I end up waiting for an extra minute for some crappy server to load.

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

There should be 2 different executables.  1 is a 'play now' exe which auto logs you onto a server, the second is the normal one that brings you to the menus.  Check in the program folder and make a shortcut to the correct. exe.  I would give you the names of the files but I am at wwork.

hi
go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 right click bf2.exe and select "send to desktop create shortcut". When the shortcut is created right click it and select properties. In the Target box at the top it should contain this line "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Hope that fixes it.
