Like saying it's the only sensible thing?
Seriously, I understand the punish dilemma for mines, but I think turning FF off altogether is a bad idea. Placing mines so that teammates will see it and get through but the enemy dont see it (or do see it, but too late to evade it) is the main skill of using them. It takes time to learn that and removing FF would throw the skill in the bin as well. Sure it's an "arcade" game (whatever that means) but why don't go ahead and remove FF altogether then so that we can spam grenades however we want as well?
My solution would be to take off the punish option for mines (after 10-15 seconds, in case it's used on the runway) and make it count as a suicide, giving -2 points.
A more (dangerous) feature would be to introduce driver responsibility, so that they get the team kill for their passengers if they drive into friendly mines. That would partly solve the problem with DPVs ramming friendly,
stopped tanks as well. That better work as intended though, there should be no TKs if the enemy kills them.
Edit: btw, some of those who drive over your mines perhaps wanted to send a message that closing exits isn't a good idea? I've seen a tank driver do that once, even though he knew I could remove the mines (I was in another vehicle and had to open another closed exit for us earlier).
