I don't care if you don't like getting spammed with 30 lines of enemy spotted.  On 32/64 player maps, all I do is spot, drop supplies, put the UAV in flight and drop Arty.  On 16 player servers, you have to be a fighting commander or you will lose.  It's a balancing act between commanding and fighting.  I hate it when everyone on your teams runs off while your spotting that damned spec ops guy blowing your stuff.  I'm trying to give you a free kill or warn you that your about to be killed.

If I have to kill that spec ops guy, that means I'm not commanding your not doing your job of killing the enemy and capping flags.  You missing out on UAV's, Supplies, Arty, and spotting because I'm doing your job for you. Its that or I'm repairing the destroyed stuff with supplies or as an engineer.

Just make sure your spot results in a red dot on the map which means spotting after the scan dot has disappeared, but you probably knew that.

If there's a group of enemies, I usually only spot one of them.

I'll asume that comment about the 30 lines of spam was aimed at me, and if it was you totally disregarded the entire point of the post I made, nuff said.

If it wasn't then ignore me.

I think it depends on the map,how many players there are and how the enemy commander is doing his job...

Most of the time I'm just commanding from a safe spot like a bunker, from experience I can tell that enemy commanders get pissed off really easily when you place an arty strike on their heads, which is great fun.
And 99% of when this happens he will be looking for you to f*ck up your kill streak and totally neglect his duties.
But on the other hand it means that you have to be somewhere safe or know the timing of the enemy arty and move accordingly.

And spotting the enemy is way underrated,at least when it comes to jets, when you have squadleaders in jets you can spot tanks or enemy infantry concentration for them,I already helped some jetwhores to a gold medal with my spotting.
SpecOps at your arty?No problem if you got a bomberpilot ready for you to give the order to deliver those guys a nice MOAB...

I mostly stay save somewhere around my assets, or I'm defending a flag while commanding --> last time I played dragon vally the enemy couldnt take the lookout point because I placed C4 all over the plave every time

Dont know if that is a good thing just spotting one out of a group. What happens if there is a lonely soldier on your team, and he sees that you have spotted one guy hanging around the back of a building, but really there is a while squad there? you lonely soldier is going to think that he can take the other soldier on, but really he is walking into an ambush.

yep - happens to me a lot...commander points out 1 guy...easy kill way out here all by his lonesome...then i run up on 3-4 guys...im toast...

at least try to show more than 1 guy there...

Depends on the map. If its something like Kubra or Sharqi, I'll stay in the main base and guard it. If my team isn't taking points, I usually do some running and gunning.

It depends on the situation. If we're winning, I stay still and spot the whole time. The UAV generally only supports one squad, but I can visually aid the others so it's well worth staying still to spot snipers, tanks, APCs, enemy AA, jets, and helicopters. However, if the flag I'm at comes under threat, I generally move out to support whoever is defending it... or if the circumstances are dire enough, I try to balance spotting and combat.

I love the "grunts" who don't notice the little red dot creeping up on them despite my desperate cries of, "Enemy infantry spotted!"

i think the commander should be far in the back and only seeing its screen .....

i dont command a lot in publics because well its rare that squads really follow orders.... but you should screen at  some squadldrs over VOIP if the dont want to follow orders.... and if your a good commander you are constantly looking for vehicles like tanks and choppers to spot for your team mates...

My comment was that you will see a lot of enemy spotted comments when I command.  It wasn't meant to be antagonistic.  I make an effort to spot those enemy troops closest to my guys and those closest to flags so that our team not under a UAV can kill them before they kill us.

I have to do that as VOIP doesn't work on my computer for hardware reasons.  When I'm on teamspeak with a group of guys, they get more detailed commments as I can spot for everyone else while telling them what I see.

a good commander dont have the time to fight, hes too busy spotting every soldiers around that are not in the UAV and telling squads where to go, and dropping supply crates near friendly tanks and using artilery.
