So i tried doing this and it was hard since im use to spending 2000 when i build my comp, but this is for a friend that only has that much to spend.

Doesnt need dvd drives, monitor, mouse or keyboard. Vista 64 bit preferred with 4gb of ram and an intel cpu also(intel cpu if possible). He wants to order from newegg.

If you go Finray's route , he could get a better CPU or GFX card or whatever. I don't know if the combo is really that good, but I'm looking at the same thing for a new computer for my family's use.

What does he want to use it for mainly???: gaming, internet...

EDIT: you could get Vista x64 $10 cheaper, but witht that one you get a free upgrade to 7 after release.

Mobo got not so great reviews, so "meh", but this general direction I think is close to as good as you're going to get for $600...
