So I've been working on rebuilding an old bike of mine off and on for about two months, top-end rebuild, replacing old piston rings, buffing up all the aluminum, installing new steering bearings...Right now I'm in that stage of putting it all back togeather again. And its near completion...Near ridable anyway, there are numerous other things I'd like to do after its back togeather. One of those things is to install a racing fairing.

Among others are:

Install new chain and sprockets
New tires
New polished or chrome spokes
New seat
HID conversion headlight kit
L.E.D turn signals
Blue L.E.D backlight gauges
POD air filters (Replacing the old stock airbox thats ugly)
Rejetting the carbs

I have a source for a fairing nice and cheap, it needs work. I would REALLY like to see a mock up of this fairing on my bike (Photoshop anyone?) here is a picture:

And here is a picture of my bike, among others:

It's not much of a looker atm, but it's getting there. Sorry I didn't document more, I can continue from this point on if anybody cares

Cylinder head is fine. I checked for leakage/gaps between the intake/exhaust ports. I had the block honed slightly w/ the new rings should get a nice good seal. Hopefully compression will go up slightly

Tank is painted, steel grey metallic. Going with that color, might add pinstripes of some sort down the road? Haven't decided.

This is really cool, where did you learn to do this?

Ya would totally like the fairing to match the tank color! Thanks burnzz.

Kurazoo, I really just learned to do it all myself over the course of a few years while owning the bike. Was really worth my time, considering I only paid $600 for the bike, would be foolhearty to spend the $$ on all the little repairs, giving my hard earned cashed to a half-assed mechanic who doesn't give a *&$% about my bike, its a great learning experience and reassuring to know you did the proper job.

Of course having the proper shop manuals helps, also the help of a great online forum dedicated to the bike you own
