Well after new developments and since both consoles cost the same, RF it's really up to which controller you prefer. However, I would suggest getting the PS3. Sports games come out on all platforms, and I don't think there are any major differences between any of the versions. The reason I suggest the PS3 is that if you feel like going online and playing, you can, and it won't cost you a dime. With the 360, either you want to play online and pay the fee, or you just skip it out entirely.

The controllers is just something you either love or hate, it's not something i could pin down (more than i already have). You either get it, or you don't.

And yeah, i used to play BF2, CoD2, 1942, 2142 and i was pretty decent with a M&K. But there is something to be said with console controllers on FPS's - Just youtube some of the Halo comp videos to see how unreal people can be with them. Again, it all falls into the casual thing, i want my console to work from the box, and everyone to be on a level (and decent) playing field - not who is the most techy/has the most money to spend.

Like i said, my serious gaming is done on PC, and casual on a console - recently i'm becoming a big fan of the wii.

I like the wii.

And about the level playing field, that's not always true, there are a few ways to get a m/kb working with a 360.

I've seen several intense halo videos, but I've seen far more intense PC Frag videos.

That's why I keep mentioning the controller. I played NHL 2000-2006 on a PS2 (which had essentially the same controller as the PS3 does now). I played NHL 2007-2010 (though I missed out on '09) on a 360. The 360's controller is much superior for NHL games.

Marine's a big NHL fan and wants to play NHL '10, so...there you go.

No but really, it's not that I hate it, I just prefer the 360's controller. The indents in the joysticks make it much easier to grip, especially with a game like NHL where the joysticks are pretty much all you use.

The only thing about the PS3 controller that I didn't like is the triggers, but then you can get those trigger extensions which make it all ok. Aside from that, I've used the same controller since I got the original playstation in like 1997/98 or something. That's more than a decade of the same shit. I've got used to it.
