So I get this lenovo thinkpad sl400 in a box, with vista (I cleaned it of all its uselss lenovo junk, but kept the install itself). I get it all ready, try to pair it with my phone, and it says that I can't turn on discoverability and connection. I went to control panel>Bluetooth>Bluetooth settings>Allow bluetooth devices to find this computer, and then this stupid popup pops up and tells me that the settings cannot be changed because and error occurred and "the bluetooth device might be unplugged"...I've tried absolutely everything, regedit, driver downloads, etc...

Halp!

Well you might have screwed it up by taking out the lenovo stuff, I know with my laptop the bluetooth has an ASUS program that you have to run to activate wireless and bluetooth... Maybe reinstall OS?

I think Lenovo has its own driver for that.  Enter Rescue and Recovery and reformat?

Download R&R if you got rid of it, locate the partition where the reinstall is, and just reset to factory.
