On another note: I just read my schedule and someone put me in fucking AP Literature. And my mom keeps talking about how much time and money we'll save and I don't give a shit. I hate AP kids and I don't need a fucking extra large workload just because I only have four classes this year. AP is a bunch of preppy kids that I want NOTHING to do with. I don't want to read books that I'm not fucking interested in. What an AWESOME thing to think about before going to bed. I'll get the boot anyway since you need like a B average to stay in it or something like that.
I just want to fast forward all this stupid impractical general academics shit and get to my major, which I'm completely interested in.
This is such a shit start to this year

In this thread: Emo prose.
Senior year isn't going to be anything fantastic because it's senior year. Senior year can be better then the rest because your parents may loosen up, you might be driving, you might have more freedom then you had before.
Either way, it's what you make of it. If you want to be whiny and depressed, then you're going to get nothing better in return.
If you think you want to get on to your major and get out in the real world because you can't stand having to read books that disinterest you, you're in for some really tough times. No one is going to be your nanny in a few years time, nothing is going to come to you.
You're going to have to work for what you want and while it's easy, while the only thing in your way is a boring book, you better get used to pushing yourself in to what you may not want to do for the sake of getting it done and being able to get stuff done in the future. Otherwise, you won't have a thing going for you.

Oh for fuck sakes. Quit judging yourself by how successful you are with chicks. I haven't had a girlfriend since middle school because I can hardly stand a single one of the chicks in my class. That's my choice and I'm perfectly happy with it. Because I don't piss and moan about it, I don't catch flak from anyone else who might disagree with it.Where would I even get self-worth from? This. I used to follow your thinking but then senior year I blossomed. I became good friends with quite a few women (some attractive some not so much, but that doesn't matter in terms of just getting better at interacting with women). I had a chance with an attractive girl in my grade (I preferred to be just friends), took one of the hotter sophomores to prom, and now I have a girlfriend.ghettoperson wrote:

What did I do? I was natural. I was myself. What's that? Wasn't I being myself already? Yes. But I needed to show a different side of myself. I also had to change myself. It's not really a matter of "being someone you're not" because deep down inside, you are a person who wants to be social. And if you want to be social, then you can be social. You really just have to 'do' it.' Shoot the shit with people, girls or boys. Women LOVE to talk about themselves and about emotion. They prefer hearing/talking about how great the weekend was instead of hearing about the latest games for PC. As you get to know a woman better then it's easier to talk about that sorta stuff since she'll already be more comfortable with you. But when you're just getting to know them, stick to what works with 99% of women.
Dress better. You don't have to be a fucking Armani model but be presentable. All women like a presentable man, be they preppy chicks or goth chicks. My girlfriend is kinda counter-culture while I dress from casual jeans and a t-shirt to khaki pants and a button-down short sleeve shirt. I make a point to look decent. Do this and you'll already be doing better. Wear a nice deodorant (Old Spice is great) or an unscented one and use a good cologne. Get a haircut. Ask yourself, "with the way I look right now, could I land an office job?" If the answer is no, then chances are you won't land a girlfriend either. Because women are far more discerning of what you wear than some HR guy in a suit.
Walk hard. Stand up straight. Look up, not down. Have a smile on your face. Not a huge teeth-bearing smile, but don't look either neutral (boring) or melancholy (not fun to be with). I mean, obviously if you're having a bad day then fuck it's normal to look down, but if your day is going fine then look like it. Do you not like yourself physically? Then start working out. And if you don't want to, then accept yourself as you are. I'm not the world's most fit or handsome guy, but many women like talking to me and a few have expressed interest in me (one is even going out with me). Why? Because I accepted that even though I'm not ripped and strong, I can still be confident. Women like confidence more than they do a guy who can bench press 400lbs.
How do you become more confident? You just gotta work on it. Say 'hi' to people in the halls or on the streets as you pass them. Some will say hi back, some will nod, some will glare at you and some will start walking away faster. The point of this is to get you comfortable with the idea of rejection. Realize this right now: not everybody in the world will be your friend or want to fuck you or go out with you. Fortunately there are 6 billion people in this world (and counting) so you'll definitely find enough to fill those roles.
Also, some people (myself included) who have been very quiet/shy/antisocial for too long begin to think that they really are like that and that it's their role in life. If you think like this, STOP. People might be taken aback a bit at first by your changes in behavior, but that's only because frankly you've never seemed social/outgoing/that friendly to them. Once you show that you genuinely are a nice fun guy, they'll be chill.
There's no magic formula for making friends and getting to know women. All you can do is just practice. You'll figure out the intricacies as you go along. I'd recommend reading this book called "how to succeed with women" as well (it's all black with white text on the front). It's actually got some very good advice (it's where I got that saying hi thing from) for any guy. Heck, I'm not even into the whole hooking up (as in fucking) with people I just met but I still found it useful.
In closing, you have to tell yourself that you can be confident and that you want to be confident and that you want friends. If you don't believe that you are, nobody will.

While I've never read a book like hurricat, I knew that I wasn't very social for a long while. I disliked this, I watched what other people did, saw the effects of their actions, and took mental notes. Put in initiative and things will change.
Heh, yeah I didn't read the book till way after I started being social. But a lot of the advice in it would definitely help someone in j's situation.

Its another fucking year man. You get a little anticipation because you get out at the end, but otherwise shit isn't too much different.
I don't get the "Do what ever you want".... You can still get in trouble as easily from administration, and if you were picked on by upperclassmen you will likely still be made fun of, just now by people your own age. I pretty much did what ever I wanted and knew I could get away with all four years... being a senior doesn't grant you any more rights, thats just in your head. I guess if you were timid all through school, but finally let lose because you thought you now had some magic right it would be different... but really that option was there all along.

My schedule is ridiculously easy for senior year.
1st - Off
2nd - AP US Politics and Government
3rd - First Semester - Crafts (god damned art credit)/Second Semester - Astronomy
4th - First Semester - Health (god damned health credit)/Second Semester - Public Speaking
5th - Gym
6th-10th - Flying planes. No seriously. I fly 2-3 times a week.
And my girlfriend is already talking about prom...either we're going to go into NYC afterwards or go to Montauk. Should be fun as hell (and the best night of my life) either way.

Senior year is so overrated - most of it's worth is knowing that you're almost done with high school.

I just finished high school and I'll be leaving for college in four days (crazy shit).
J, do what you gotta do to get out of there, but don't take it seriously. Oh, and the feeling you get after graduation is almost worth the twelve years you spent getting a public "education." Have fun.

Tons of kids feel the way you do. What you're going through doesn't make you unique in any way. It's common._j5689_ wrote:

If you would actually come to the parties you would have a great time. tbh I would look out for you and make sure you got home ok and no one fucked with you which they probably wontRyan wrote:
