BF2 crash

This is a problem I had a lot before 1.03. However, 2 days ago this appeared again:

Error message:

"Debug assertion failed!

Object not found C:/Program files.../mini_map_icon_small_0 (or something like that"

And it crashes, whether I say 'debug' 'ignore' or 'close'.

Who else has this?

Any fixes?

ok what i want you to do is following 2 things

1 right click bf2 icon click proparties, where it ses target go to end of that link and it will say sumthing like menue 1 fullscreen 1 change full screen to 0 and load up game this will start your game in half of screen instead of full screen.

2. when you crash dont press anything exept ctrl+Prt Sc ( which will take a screen shot of your desktop and the error messige) go to normal desktop paint and press ctrl+v which will open up your screen shot save that screen shot and post back Here I will see what I can do after that Peace Bro Boris

It only seems to happen after I press 'join game'. It stops, the tickets say 0 and all the CP's are stars, then it crashes.

Seems like you have a corupted file. Best way to fix the issue is uninstall and reinstall. Also, have you changed anything to the came before you saw this issue, like a mod or even patch 1.22?

The game is having trouble reading/rendering a file from your D:\ drive. I am going to assume that this is your DVD/CD-Rom drive. Check your DVD/CD of the game and make for sure it is not scratched.
