When I play on a Battlefield 2 ranked, public server, the game tends to get choppy and laggy. Especially when there are many players in the game. It says on the scoreboard that my ping is usually well below 100. I have a broadband DSL internet connection. The game seems to stutter, and slows down quite substantially. My desktop PC specifications include the following.
*Foxconn G33 Motherboard.
*Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 (2.66 GHz) @ 2.66 GHz.
*6 GB of DDR2 800 MHz RAM @ 800 MHz.
*ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB (all stock clock speeds)
*400-Watt PSU.
*DVD Drive.
*All stock air coolers.
*Integrated Sound Card.
*Integrated Network Card.
*Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Premium.
*720p LCD Monitor.
I don't understand why a computer like this would have trouble running a game that came out in 2005. Is this a system problem? Or a lag/connection problem? Perhaps it's the server? What is causing this problem? I have a pre-built Gateway desktop PC. I have already purchased a better power supply to replace the crappy one that came with it. It is the Corsair TX750 750-Watt PSU.
