Do you have this too.. Whenever you come online on MSN, Facebook, whatever.. Some people say 'hi', you say hi back, they ask how you are and you answer, ask the same thing, get a response... and then the conversation dies..

I don't know about you, but I usually only start a conversation when I want to know something, or when I need to talk to that person... I figured they'd get the point after starting a conversation pretty much every day, that dies in the same manner, every time, too. But no, they keep asking and pissing me off.

If someone starts a convo with you it's probably because they like you in some form or another, be it a friend, crush etc.

Just start asking questions and see where it leads, esp. if it's a girl.

Well, I do reply back to their questions and whatnot, but  I don't want to hear the same old conversation every time I come online, talk about being original

But don't they get that I'm not showing any interest in them at all? I can get annoyed really fast at people, and this is probably one of the best ways to get me to find that person annoying

That used to happen when I had like 500 contacts on my MSN, then I reduced it to about 40 and only have real conversations now.

Well, this specific case right now is a girl that I know she likes me, but I don't love her. We're just good friends, but her talking to me everyday and starting useless/annoying conversations that only waste my time makes me like her even less

Totally thread worthy..

But nevertheless your point is totally valid, it IS annoying.. And I hate it when it happens.

I generally skip the "Hi", "hi", "you alright?", "yeah, you?", "yeah, i'm good" ... and launch straight in to what I wanted to say. People that I talk to often also do this with me.

I'm sure this is the case with lots of people.

The above is assumed, when I start a conversation.

start babbling about, lets say cars like she is babbling about her stuff. Should annoy her as much as she does you.

Last part, that's the problem.

I don't really, I view the introduction as a bit of politeness.

What I'm doing now is just letting her rage on about whatever the fuck she wants to tell me about.. Maybe she'll get the point, soon, hopefully

Meh, quite a lot of my e-conversations just carry on from where they broke off. Occasionally preceded by a "good morning", but not always.

If I talk to someone that I don't normally talk to then sure, I go through the "formalities".

Why are people starting conversations with you if the conversation trails off after the introductions, lol?

That's what I'm wondering too. I have two people on the top of my head, where the conversation dies out almost every time after the politeness part. I just can't grasp why they keep trying

I was just talking to my friend about that yesterday. We had a good laugh, because every MSN conversation starts with,

- Hi how are you?
- Fine and you?
- Fine thanks!
-Cool

/end

I usually then ask what's new, but most idiots just say "Nothing" as if they were trying to kill the convo when they started it. I usually have some nice conversations with guys, but with girls it usually ends up with why their boyfriend sucks.

I'm surprised you're not pissed off at us de-railing your thread so epically.
