How about asking some more questions in the OP, to help spark some more debate and discussion:
Do you still play BF2?
Why do you still come here, if you don't play BF2 any more?
Did you join the forums when BF2 was first released, or have you only just discovered it and thus these forums?
Why are there newly registered members on the forum each day if the game is so old?
Why are so many people still here, when they stopped playing BF2 two years ago?
etc

I come here because I enjoy coming here. I come here to chat with everyone, to learn about the world, to help people and to get help from people.
Finding interesting things on the internet is a whole lot easier if you've got someone else doing it for you. Often this site acts like a feed aggregator, for me. Pulling interesting news stories, videos and articles.
Finding new music is a lot easy if there's other people on the same forum with similar tastes who can recommend bands, genres, producers and etcetera. Same goes for films and other media. The forums are also a pretty handy place for tech support - I mean, if it wasn't for this forum I'd probably still be wondering which new components to buy for my PC, and then when I would eventually come round to a decision it would probably be poor.
There is a diverse variety of people here, with a diverse selection of interests. This leads to varied and interesting discussion.
