GTX 275 vs 8800 GTS G92

So right now I have an 8800 GTS G92. I'm not necessarily in the market for a new card because I can still play games pretty well (resolution is 1920x1200) and I don't really want to spend a ton of money.

However, every Friday, Frys (a local electronic store) puts out a four page ad and I found this little gem: (GTX 275 for $149)

Now I just checked out newegg and the lowest I could find it was $219.

So I guess here's the point of the post, I've been out of the graphics card loop for a while, and I know that DX11 is just around the corner (and I won't be able to buy anything DX11 for quite some time), but this seems like a really good deal.. how much of a boost would a GTX 275 give me over my 8800 GTS?

I would offer my comparison using Fallout3 going from an 8800GTX to a GTX 275, but I also changed my processor and motherboard in the process so it might not be a valid comparison.

I'd do it. I got a 275 myself for around 220$ and it's well worth it, not that much for a great card! For 150$ I'd hit it.

Well I could... but computers are less of a priority these days. I have to buy books for next semester, I just bought an 1800 dollar bike and I'm going to have to get a 200 dollar kit next semester for the cycling team... I mean I work but I'm also going to a school that costs 46k a year to go to..

That's fair, but I only have one g92.

Right now it's on craigslist for 100, I'll probably get 80ish for it. I don't mind spending 50-70 bucks for a gtx 275... It'll future proof me for a while, I don't play many games anymore

why would you want to get a DX10 card when there is considerably faster DX11 one out really soon? One G92 is more than enough for a month or so....

What are you talking about? HD5 series launch is in 2 weeks.... cards should be available couple weeks from that.

There will be DX11 cards in all price ranges.

There is no word from NVIDIA, anything could happen.
