2 days ago i was playing bf2 fine then the next i wanted to play again i put my bf2 cd in the DVD player and it starts make a really strange sound like if the DVD was slipping so i put it in again and i does the same. sometimes it works on other games and sometimes it does the same on them. Does any of you guys had the same thing and any of you know the solution could you help me cuz i need some help with this one. THX for the help already.

That happened to XBox once, it stopped after about an hour though.

The normal thing to happen as far as i can tell is for the laser to get out of alignment. This makes it very hard to read the lead in track. If it can't find that it will normally just keep on spinning or give an error. Think that's right.
The other thing that sometimes happens is the carriage bar becomes a bit sticky and the laser can no longer travel along it.

there are ways to play bf2 without the cd/dvd in the drive - legally. as i only have 1 optical drive i hate having to have the game in there all time, and this is the route i have taken. this is not about piracy as i bought the game the week it came out.
yeah i am now playing bf2 without cd legally. thx 4 the tips guys i am gonna look what is happening with my DVD player or maybe buy a new 1.
save yourself the time and headache and buy a new one. hell they are only ~$40 for a dvd burnerMasta_Daco wrote:
