The wiki article, and what was reported on the news here, state that they told the control tower they would try to control the aircraft, so that it didn't crash in the nearby houses. In the video, it looks like the aircraft applies some left rudder as it is going down.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

Ah, fair enough.mcminty wrote:

Wtf almost hits them at 2:04s into the video?
Think its a bird passing somewhere between the cameraman and the plane.1927 wrote:

Those guys had balls. Didn't eject so they didn't crash into a small village. RIP.

I wouldn't necessarily say shit piloting, but, yea, it's easy to push a vehicle past it's limits at a show that's designed to show (and even test) limits... air shows are no exception... it's always "when" not "if".justice wrote:
I could be wrong, but it looks like they stalled, which would be an incredibly shit piece of piloting by them it that's the case.
In any case RIP, and good on them for diverting from the village.

Isn't common for Russian pilots crashing their plane at airshows :\
I am no expert but it looks like the jet exhaust was getting black when they flew away from the camera...maybe engine failure played a part in the crash.

There seems to be a lot of crashes involving Sukhoi fighters at airshows, quite a few I can remember at the least. RIP to the two crew.
Not really. M.O.A.B. is right, but it always seems to occur in the shitty seperated former Soviet states, not the Russian Federation.loubot wrote:
