Could be. My girlfriend felt overdressed but as it got later, the people dressed in formalwear (like us) enhanced their majority.Kmarion wrote:
loyal customers most likely.. they're making sure those waiters stay over six figures.
At Bern's they make the servers work on their farm for like a years first.
I know the strip you're talking about but I can't think of the name for the life of me...kmar, help me outUzique wrote:
i ate at a really nice steakhouse when i was in orlando, fl actually... the interior design and dining experience so forced and tacky, though.
cant remember the name. was right off the main strip.
All I remember from when I was on it was there was some kind of car racing themed restaurant. That's all I remember. It was 2004 the last time I was on it.Kmarion wrote:
I guarantee you I can find you something non-tacky around here.

My server was fucking hot (if you're ever at the Boca location ask for Gianna lol) so I guess that probably helped her too.Kmarion wrote:

sorry, got to keep the american road nomenclature in mind... it was off the main freeway, pretty big place. down in the direction of the disney world exit-ramp if i remember rightly. im sure you can find somewhere non-tacky, kmar . makes me laugh though, on that note i remember a 1950's-themed diner i went in when i was in orlando as well, that place was so crazy and novel. makes me miss america, actually!
btw downtown disney is the shizzle-bizzle. especially the clubs there. oh my megalulz.
I had a feeling it was international something but I couldn't remember what. That brought it back.Uzique wrote:

Believe it or not we natives get that vibe when we visit those novelty type places too. Even if we are only 45 minutes away. It's a nice and easy get away.Uzique wrote:
yeah i went to tampa (although also for predictably tourist reasons - busch gardens) and it had a different vibe to it. orlando definitely is a tourist paradise and everything is so perfectly crafted to suit that exact industry. i love it though, it makes a trip to somewhere like disney world seem all the more fantastical when even the accommodation, local area and local people seem to be infused with the same novelty and character. really can't fault the place. i know it's not 'typical' america, by a long-shot, but it definitely has a warmth and joviality to it that i would call uniquely american.
