Started to install 1.5, then canceled to back up files, go to restart it and get a message saying, "You already have a newer version installed."

Can I clear registry temp data maybe?

Also, don't know what I did, but my shortcut for BF2 and SF are not working. It wont run from my drive, luckily I have installed a backup that works. But, need to recreate shortcuts. What is the shortcut target line to start SF?

For patching, you might try messing with (I dont really know what) the bf2patch.log file in the root BF2 folder. Make a backup first of course

thanks taht worked, can't i change the version? I remember doing this when trying 1.5 beta, I'm in regedit looking for a version for bf2 but can't find it. I do see a bf2 special forces 'version' file but not one for vanilla. the sf one says 1.4 btw

i guess i could try repatching to 1.4 then installing 1.5? I really do not want to uninstall my BF2 (Cause i borrowed my discs out)
