macbeth dont make me find that horrific pic of your ex. kinda sad you hang on that one thing, haha, im not ashamed about sharing things like that at all... it's hardly the eclipsing romance of my lonely life like yours seemingly was. what can you do with a degree in english? are you stupid? not even going to dignify that with an answer, end your life. reputation and the perceived 'difficulty' of your subject has just as much to do with your job prospects as the straight vocational applicability. you'd have to be pretty naive to think any non-vocational degree is a waste of money and time.Macbeth wrote:
What can you really do with a degree in English anyway beside posting shitty threads about birds worrying where they are headed on bf2s and not realize it was shit. Excuse that last part, that's what happens when you fail at it. So what can you do with a degree in English again?Uzique wrote:
that's more down to a classical-style education with proper attention to that sorta stuff... i dont study the structures of speech, phonemes and all the sociological/psychological stuff. the best of my knowledge in linguistics comes from reading chomsky and doing an a-level in english language. i fucking hate linguistics, it bores me shiteless. much closer to science/maths than anything to do with the art/philosophy/intellectual musings of literature.
