I put 10.5 on my PC a while ago, I didn't really think much of it, I'd prefer Linux any day..Sup wrote:

Lots of people are having printer driver issues with 10.6. They've removed loads of drivers compared to 10.5 and you have to actually download them from the maufacturers websites which a lot of Mac users are struggling with....mcminty wrote:
Uzique has summed up my thoughts on Snow Leopard. There are a few things about it that are shitting me, but I can wait until 10.6.1 for those to be fixed. Overall you'd have to be daft not to get it.
Bertster - Soo.. working with Apple UK, would you know how one sets up a USB printer connected to a Network USB Hub on OS X? I can't figure that one out XD
The printer works fine when connected directly to the laptop. So I doubt it was a driver issue. I also wasn't able to get it connected on 10.5. It's an Epson R350 printer, attached to a Belkin Network USB Hub. The hub is connected to the router, with the IP address of 192.168.1.7 I've been able to open the hub control software, and connect to an external hard drive that is also plugged into the hub.. so I know that I'm able to access devices connected to it.Bertster7 wrote:
What printer and what USB hub? Does the printer work connected directly to the machine? Support for non-Apple hubs can be flaky.

The problem is, I don't know what settings to use when I'm trying to "add a new printer". I know there is a method where you can give the IP address of the printer, but because it's part of a hub... I don't know what to do (and I have tried putting in the hub's IP, but to no avail).
The industry's first reliable print server: Network USB Hub makes your computer think that printers and other devices on the network are directly attached to the computer.

Did you fellas update your flash? It supposedly shipped with an older, more vulnerable version.

For some reason, flash apps will occasionally invert the right and left click.. so if I'm watching a youtube video, there are some occasions where clicking on it (to say skip ahead) will open up the right click drop down menu.mcminty wrote:

I was making a joke as to the applicability of 'upgrade' when moving from one Mac product to another.JakAttaK wrote:
