I have downloaded the new patch, every time i try to install it, a message pops up saying that i already have a newer version installed. i really dont want to download it again, any suggestions?

i tried the reinstall and it didn't work, ill try deleting the folder and then install it.
I had the same problem.
My fix was installing the game, then the complete 1.41 patch, then 1.5.
Works flawlessly since.

You have 1.5 beta2 or beta3 installed right? Have to have 1.41 to install 1.5 final

I had the same problem, even though I currently had 1.41 and could play it.
What I did was download patch 1.41 again, re-apply it. And then apply the 1.5 patch
Better then installing the whole game over again.. Hope that helps.

Probably doesn't matter now, but you could have changed the bf2 version registry file. Click Start -> Run -> type regedit -> go to EA Games folder click the Battlefield 2 folder, there should be a 'version' file that says the version you have. That file can be changed to 1.4, then you should be able to install 1.5 again?
