I have two plasma TVs in two living rooms.
I have Sky HD on the 42 Downstairs and PlayStation and surround sound system on my 46inch plasma in the living room upstairs directly above.
The house is wired for cat5, with sockets beside the TVs. The house is also wired to send the RF output from the sky box to all the TVs in the house. Wont send in HD tho.
Basically I want to get the Sky HD in HD from Downstairs to upstairs so I can watch movies on the bigger screen with surround.
I cant just move the Sky box upstairs as upstairs is wired for Free Sat HD and Downstairs for sky and the RF round the house.
I am actually considering tracking a HDMI cable up the wall and through the concrete floor to the upstairs room. Which will make a mess. Basically my question is.
Can I use the CAT5 Network? All I have read on it says it uses up all the bandwidth of the cable and blocks out all other traffic. All my cabling runs through a router. And I have my gaming PC upstairs so I can't just splice the two living room cat5 cables at the router creating a dedicated line.
There doesn't seam to be any products on the market to wirlessly stream HDMI content. I have concrete floors upstairs and my rather good wireless router can't get a signal through the floor so I doubt if a wireless HDMI router (if such a thing exists) could get anything through.
So if anyone has any solutions or Ideas please let me know before I get out the concrete saw and make a total mess of my house. Cheers.
