I just got a PM from a BF2RS admin about this. I PMed him with the info on the exploit, and he replied saying that EA was to release a server-side patch on Tuesday. Name blurred to protect the innocent >.>

Frigging noobtards, with all the glitching, why bother? Almost always a waste of money seeing as you need to be server admin to do it, the execption is if you are a clan admin and dont pay for the server (Highly unlikly)

Pretty sure that how the glitch works is common knowledge by now, not to mention that you must be a server admin to pull it off, thereby eliminating 98% of the forum population.

And the rest? most of the admins are a little smarter than trying something that universally stupid.

to make public the fact that the rank/score system is dodgey. partly to get them to fix it - which they are now doing if this info about a server patch is correct.

so, they drew attention to a massive points glitch, which has probably been used by many more subtlely, as the thread starter points out - and now it's getting fixed.

so in other words, all these "fags", "noobs" "babies", "cunts" (etc - drawing on other threads here) have done a MASSIVE favour to anyone who cares about ranks, points, or any of that, by making EA/Dice get off their arses to fix a massive problem (which given their track record, would have been ignored otherwise) - which if you believe those CEA guys, was their intention from the start.

And even if you don't believe the CEA guys who did it first, doesn't it stand to reason that everyone else who has done it (especially those that deliberately leave their scores as that identical highest number), given it's so obvious and that they know they will be reset (and therefore the extra points in no way actually help their stats), are also doing it in order to ensure that BF2 gets fixed and is a better game?

Just an opinion. If you (not you personally Sarrk, I mean everyone who has been paying out these guys over the last few days in various threads) really care about stats, ranks, top 10, and all that crap - you should be actually lauding their efforts instead of getting upset about it.
