I've tried a few keys, I'm getting Invalid CD key for some and not for others, some servers allow me in whilst others don't - even with the same key.

Hmm, maybe people are currently playing with your other keys? I've never gotten that message without knowing that someone else had my key. I'd say make sure you are keying or copy/pasting the key in correctly, but I'm sure you've tried it a few times.
i just uninstall and re-install, worked for me way back when.
