Teamkillers are worse than stats padders imo...
well, it may sound funny to us "older" gamers ( I am 30 myself and have been through a bunch of FPS ), but there are people who care about the global ranks and the e-badges, and who don't want to see that system rendered useless because of all the padders and exploiters.
Look at the Top10. Last week, we could be pretty sure that all of those guys had earned their points legit. This week, all of those guys except BlaZin are exploiters for sure.
The global rankings were a major sales pitch by EA and - I believe - a big reason why so many people bought the game in the first place. It sets BF2 apart from other FPS.
I believe BF2 will lose a lot of its appeal if EA cannot manage to ensure the integrity of the stats system, i.e. stop stat padders and exploiters.
Personally, I couldn't care less about my Global Rank, and since I value teamplay, my individual stats really are only of minor interest to me, but there are folks who enjoy seeing their name rise on the Global Rankings and who like earning e-badges/ribbons/awards legitimately.
And btw, from a teamplay POV, if half of my team is busy repairing a vehicle in the water or getting in line for the jet instead of helping to defend flags or attack the enemy, then stat padding is affecting my gaming experience...

unlocks=worthless
ranks=bullshit
stat pader=loser with nothing to do
cheater=same as stat pader
its all about skills, fun and some teamwork.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

I agree to some point, but the main point was that people keep bitching about padders - EA will whipe them like TA Firestrom's stats were whiped
