Help Buying Laptop

So my brother is going into his last year at uni and whats a decent laptop. He currently has an ancient one that freezes when he does the tiniest of multitasking such as firefox + itunes. lol

Well he has a budget of around £500, can go more too £600 if neccessary but not doesnt want to.

I would think he could get a core 2 duo proccessor (2.0 GHz) and about 2GB of RAM. What would you think??

I had a look on dells site and for that they are saying £600 which seems excessive.
So please help my find a gd laptop for £500.

Stay away from Compaq Presarios and HPs that have the latest AMD chips in them. I had a Compaq Presario CQ60-206US that almost severely burnt my leg. Basically, they overheat like crazy...

ahh I was indeed.

Thanks, and that works out fine I think as it has an hdmi output which he wanted too.
