When I play BF2 online, I notice that sometimes when I right click to look through a scope or the iron sights of a weapon, sometimes it doesn't respond immediately. Often I have to click Two or Three times in order to use this feature. Sometimes I get "stuck" in zooming mode, and have to mash down the right mouse button to exit and/or enter. This happens most often when the game play gets choppy/slow due to there being too many people on the server and/or lag. My old computer (P4 3.0 GHz 1GB RAM Radeon X800 XT) did the exact same thing to me.

Is this an issue with lag, or is it my system? I have a Core 2 Quad, 6GB RAM, and an HD 4850. My computer should bury BF2.

Yeah it happens when the server is laggy but wireless connection makes it much more frequent

So it's caused by lag and not my computer not being fast enough to process all the chaos in a game with 64-players?

It's caused by the lag of a 64 player server.

The wired comments are referring to your internet connection, not your mouse...

I have a hard-wired DSL. Would getting a Killer NIC gaming network card help, or solve this problem?

All the reviews I've read for the Killer NIC cards are all negative. People say that there is absolutely NO difference in their ping, FPS, and with lag difficulties between their previous network card, and the Killer NIC.

It won't. Find different servers or pay to upgrade your connection.

There isn't much space to fit anything in my single PCIe 1x slot which is located millimeters away underneath my HD 4850. I was thinking of putting a Fatal1ty X-Fi sound card in it. If there is even room for that. The designers of my motherboard should have taken this into consideration and put the sockets farther apart from each other. After all, my Foxconn G33 wasn't designed for gaming. It's more of a workstation/multimedia bound mobo.

How much RAM do you have?  I used to have lag like that until I upgraded my RAM.
