I just wanted to know if anyone has figured out a good way to save themselves from AA now that the improved AA has been out for a while. If I am in the J-10, I have found out that certain maneuvers confuse the AA a bit and I can usually get away even from the 8 missles from the essex. I can't do this that well in the slower JSF for example, but I can usually avoid a few AA to get back to safety. I'll be posting a tutorial soon with videos of some good techniques to avoiding AA but I wanted to get some input if anyone has some good tips.
Clockwise Corkscrew works everytime for me.
Make jerky, unpredictable movement, whore the afterburners and when you drop flares, go down; it'll confuse the AA lock more.
hmm ill try ur suggestions ty guys i hate aa! :p
i look forward to your video for i get hit almost 9/10 times ive been locked
hence the crappy time in a jet

I have found in the j10 something very hilarious - maybe you already know about it but it is funny. Yesterday, I really didnt know how to evade the missles with all the new patches, but then I found out at least for the j10.
When missles are on you, just instead of pulling back on your joystick - mouse, pull it foward. This works every single time, yesterday, I did a horizontal loop like this over the essex. IT WAS HILARIOUS! the missles couldnt even hit me, I was just circling above the guy in the essex, he unloaded all missles on me - and they all flew by. I don't think this works in any other plane, because the j10 has a smaller hit box (i think). I would like to know how to evade missles in the bombers, and other jets.

What i do...and it works most of the time...is to dolphin movements...as in flying upwards then downwards, upwards then downwards until the annoying AA sounds disappears
Then i change to bomber view and shoot the crap out of the AA guy.

just jump out. works everytime.
need a shit

Hmm,the only jet I'm really good in is the F15 on Clean Sweep, maybe there are not enough people in the IGLAs or they just don't see me.
My tactic is to go quite high at the takeoff, about 350-370 (meters, feet, whatever) and then dive down for your bombrun in a steep angle.
If I get locked on during the bombing I go really low and fast (afterburners!!) and try to get some hills or buildings between me and the missiles.
It usually works pretty well,I only got shot down on Clean Sweep by enemy jets, and that's mostly the MiG.
But I think the more important thing than evading missiles is the right approach so they can't get a lock on.
If you have the chance to test all the stinger-ranges on a private server with a buddy you'll realize that the Stingers and IGLAs have a really short lock on range, the trick now is to stay out of these ranges or just enter them for a very short moment.
Try to do a "mix between a Stuka-dive and highlevel-bombing" and the ground-to-air missiles are not a big problem anymore,it's those pesky J-10s and MiG29s you gotta worry about.

fly low pull up fast most of the time they go in the water
I'm not great in the jets, but I've been working on things to help me avoid getting shot down. I've found that if you get a lock, and switch camera views so you are looking behind you...........you can watch the missiles approaching. Don't be quick to drop flares. Let the lock get solid, let the missiles get close..........when you see them getting close.........drop flares as you bank hard. This kind of "tosses" the flares in the direction that you WERE going, as you fly off in a different direction. It seems the missiles always go for the flares instead of you if you do it like that.
It's not really anything that requires "skill"........you just need to have the balls to hold off on dropping flares and let the missiles get close. I've only got like 40 hours in a jet, but the biggest mistake I see pilots make is dropping their flares as soon as they hear a lock tone. If they do that, they're done......they're mine. I've got 6 missiles, and they have no flares.
And then, there are the pilots that DO wait to release flares. So, I'll follow with a lock.......if they don't drop flares right away, I will launch ONE missile. This usually convinces them to drop the flares. Then I keep following them, and I've got 5 missiles left to finish them off while their flares are reloading.

Bail.
Works every time.
Works every time.
Ground AA is useless - it's not really a threat even with the improvements; you can see them from too far away, you get flares to avoid the first two, and if you go back before your flares reload, you are knowingly endangering yourself (no sympathy). Plus you can MG and bomb the shit out of the sight long before they know you are coming, just don't attack the same place the same angle, every time the same round.GotMex? wrote:

That said using burners and turns up and away (like to your upper left if you were flying straight in on the guy) works in the J10. If you take a hit, you usually won't take both, and 2 hits in the J10 with burners won't do as much damage as two hits straight on if you didn't use burners and hard turn (e.g. you never have to bail).
What you want to work on more, is avoiding enemy jet rockets, they are much better then ground AA. The split-s in the J10 is far too fast for the F35B to down the J10 with rockets, and I still rely on this and it is 100% effective, but you have to check your rear view, you cannot let them get right on your ass. As for the F35 if you get caught with a J10 on your ass and you're flareless, you are hamburger no matter what maneuver you pull. Haven't found a way around this, other then hoping your enemy pilot is an idiot and can't fly well enough to keep tracking you and get some shots off.
Let me know if you come up with anything effective for jets - I play 99% ground now, only checking in on planes to make sure I haven't become incompetant in my off time.
