Yes. I swear commanders go out of their way to get me wherever I am.
I rarely hang out with the main group, but as soon as I show up, boom! Arty.
I was also once the only person out on that side of the map before, and got artied. But I knew that was coming, since I was sniping at their commander

On Karkand our server had just reset so there were about 20 people in game. US had all the front flags so most everyone was on the back island. I was running towards hotel from US non-cap with one of our fellow members and I watched 1 single arty shell drop right on his head while he was running across the street on the East side of Hotel. ONLY ONE SHELL!! lol-wtf?! needless to say he wasn't too happy )
i know the artilery has a magnet it always goes for me when i try to artilery i cnat hit anything wtf???

whenver arty hits its either IM THE ONLY FUCKING ONE TO DIE or i get killed fist or the very last shell hits me never anything else. And i play on karkand 64 player map server so wtf

I love being blown sky high at frequent intervals throughout a round.
Im the biggest arty magnet on Karkaband. ill get arty'd all alone waiting for a tank to spawn while at the same time my entire team is taking over a flag. go figure?

I usually listen for "ARTILLERY YOUR POSITION" and adjust on my mini map to be on one of the outer rings. Now if I'm on the run, I'll take my chances on foot. Sometimes I try the suicidle method and try to weave in between the hits. It's kinda like dodgeball. Other days, you just catch one in the melon while standin there.
Try standing still and looking up when arty comes down. Your face becomes your hit box and is very small. You will not die even if standing in the middle of the strike. If you notice others doing this you will notice their mouth opens and forms an "o" shape. Only a direct hit in the "o" will kill you. I think this is an easter egg put in by the programmers of the game so they could test arty but not get killed by it and having to waste time respawning. My teammates have a word for it when we see people using this exploit... "c---sucking".

I got that FIVE frigging times on sharqi, eventually I said, "What! Am I that so fucking high priority!?" its like "OMFG!! Its Sarrk111!!!!! lets arty him!!" So i grabbed a specops kit and blew thier arty sky high, then I requested supplys on one, grabbed more C4, blew the arty up again, and procceeded to blow up the uav, and scan, then climbed the tower and knifed thier fucking commander. It felt goooooooooddddd =P
I was playing Wake last night, and kept getting arty'd, more than usual even. Then I finally noticed that their commander was the same guy I'd sniped atleast 6 times. I didn't have it out for him, he just kept finding his way into my sights. That fucker even arty'd me when I was swimming from the US arty island to the main island. The way I see it, if you use your arty on just 1 guy, that guy is doing something right.
I always seem to attract artillery when I break away from the front line on karkand and grab gatehouse or suburb...guess I must be doing my job then

Ask Books_DCDF for confirmation, but a short while back we were sniping under a bridge at Kubra Dam. We were there for so long killing enemy soldiers (and my killing enemy choppers, right Books?), the commander repeatedly called arty on us. He called it on us SO much that the bridge blew up (the same happens where bombed or C4ed). That was like 5 or 6 times! Hot damn it was intense...?? wrote:

lmao i used to think i was an arty magnet to. but now ive learned how to avoid arty strikes. i just love when commanders try to arty me and my squad 5 times in a row and keep missing us. on a side note i think ill try standing in an arty strike with my head up just to see if that works lol.
I've never felt like a magnet, only the feeling of being at the wrong place at the wrong time! As bad as some of you cats might think it is, at least the HE rounds in the game don't have the killing radius they do out in the Fleet.
(100-150m and EVERYTHING gets wasted!)

Sometimes I get hit by artillery nearly every time the commander drops it, and other times I can weave through the exploding shells in my Vodnik and not suffer a hit. It seems I get hit by artillery when I really don't want to be (like when I'm pwning everything), and can dodge it when I am doing something stupid like C4 car bombing.
Ya it seems to happen every 4 rounds I will always be blown up by both comanders and I always think I am far enough away then I get nailed by the last one. Or when I spawn and the artillary comes down right then
Always happens to me. I was just playing Warlord as insurgent and we were held up at the top of the map. I broke through and got to the base nearest to the SAS's base (can't remember the name). my commender puts a UAV up and I tell him thanks. There were 2 guys spawning there, so I took them out while I was taking the flag. However, the commander felt it necessary to arty ME as I was taking the base. The little arty symbol on my mini map was directly on me. I ran away and took cover (the flag was neutral) and got back to the flag before any more guys showed up. A second later the other commander gets me with arty and we lose the round by 1 point a minute later.
But I swear, I always either spawn in arty, get hit by what should be past the arty's radius of destruction, or am the only one killed by arty in a group of 4 or 5 people.
