Honda, California Democrat and chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.

Mr. Honda was joined by more than 20 of his colleagues in two letters laying out the demands.
Apparently being a legal United States citizen shouldn't be a requirement for Obamacare access.  Thoughts?

I pay the same fucking taxes that a US citizen does (I'm a permanent resident) so yes legal immigrants should be covered.

Illegals only some.

It's pretty well explained, here (in the OP):

I say if we legals are good enough to serve the United States, we're good enough to get government health care if we choose.

As for illegals, I'd say probably not unless there was extensive reform in regards to how we handle the illegal immigration situation.

Lega limmigrants should be covered, they are paying into our system. illegals should be arrested and deported. Why is there even a question among democrats. You would think the term ILLEGAL pretty much spells out what should happen.

Explain to me how an illegal is required to register for selective service, and just how many do so?

anyway it is a great idea, what better way to locate them, round them up and deport their asses?

Because the government preferred to not punish the companies illegally employing them and illegally underpaying them. Compared to living in the slums of Mexico, most illegals would rather be underpaid than not paid at all which is why they took those jobs when offered. And because they're afraid to raise hell about it since they'd probably get deported, the companies continue hiring them and underpaying them illegally. The companies make more profit that way and thus don't bother employing legal residents and citizens who would complain.

If there's ever to be change with the illegal immigration situation, it has to start by enforcing our laws regarding employing illegals and underpaying employees. Companies will then start hiring legal workers and pay them proper wages, because it'd be cheaper than getting slapped with hefty fines or being shut down.

The next step would need to be a complete revamping of the immigration process to that those who are eager to contribute and work in this society can get in without jumping through hundreds of hoops. A secure Southern AND Northern border will also be a must.

Look, this shows once more what an individualistic society America has always been. They don't care about the poor and needy and they only think of themselves. They go don't think about the 40 million plus Americans who have no healthcare of any kind.

The sign of a truly civilised nation is when absolutely every single person (rich or poor) has access to healthcare. It may sound socialist, but healthcare is a fundamental right and socialism is perfectly justified this one time.
