I tried forcing vsync off in the nvidia control panel but that didn't change anything.
I'm not sure now if it was enabled in the first place, because nvidia let the 3D app choose the setting.
Might try forcing it.

Can't have anything to do with the graphic bus system.
The flashbang effect (as well as the tear gas blur effect) worked perfectly fine on my old PCI-e 6600GT as well as my PCI-e 8600GT.
Never actually played BF2 on an AGP system.
