for example:
someone i know, lets call him john, buys a car that is 95% restored for 110k USD. So then he goes the extra 5 for about 15-20k. Took him about two weeks to find the parts have them delivered and installed. The KBB value on this particular car with those particular options is now 350k usd. Factor in auction value and thats well over 400k. Try to find a stock with that sort of return. All in two weeks.
lets say john bought a 57 bel air for 40k in the late 80's with 150 original miles on it. today, in 2009, i can only speculate what a car like that would go for at auction. I don't even want to speculate, but lets just say about a 1000% return in 25 years. and still groing
Or new cars- 07 E63's with 25k miles that were originally about 100k are auctioning for 43 and the street value is 53. So if I had a wholesalers license and I could turn one of those over every month i'd make 120k off 40k. again. holy return
