Europe has been the worlds arm supplier for decades, even today most of the high end designs (for the US amongst others) come from Belgium. The existence of trade is only logical.Macbeth wrote:
Military trade, oh the horror. Seems that EU states do a bunch of shady dealings all over the world that most Euros are shocked to find out about. Guys must really have their heads in the sand over there.
Decades? Centuries. Goes all the way back to the Renaissance when Europe developed the first practical firearms.Lai wrote:

and finland is not a race. lol. thanks for making my point.
Of course a country isn't a race.

Geez way to go off topic! No, Finland isn't a race, but a Finn is a memebr of 'The Fins', i.e. a race. You said Finns are slow ergo you are racist, or at the very least prejudiced. Red Forman writes a dozen useless posts, off topic, which is why I ask him to stay out of the thread. DU doesn't, so I don't care. RedForman you clearly love trolling this forum to make ill-informed comments, like all your posts in this thread, so don't bother, child.
It's true Europe has been at the forefront of arms making for centuries, but so what? Doesn't mean it's ok. Personally, I don't think we should be supplying arms to countries that routinely (daily?) are involved in serious human rights violations. That's it. Full stop. We shouldn't sell or buy arms to/from Israel, like we shouldn't do so with Burma or Zimbabwe for the same reason. Simple enough isn't it?
Pubic - yes, as I mentioned 17 million dollars is small fry for the US, Australia, GB and ISrael itslef. In Finland it's a big thing. But in any case, the amount of money involved is incidental to the facts, as stated above.
