- Has anyone else had somewhat of a bf2 burnout??
Well, it's all perspective. I don't get to play much, so it stays pretty even keeled for me. If you were doing, say, 8 hours a day, you are going to get bored soon enough.
Had a burnout before the patch but now i'm BACK.....
Meh im like that with everything! once you pop you cant stop
just dont play it for a week and u will get back into it!

Before the patch, once I got all the awards that i could possibly get without ridiculous amounts of extra gameplay, I kinda burned out.
After the patch, it's been the awards that have got me going again, trying to get the new ones. I've got all I can get at the moment, and I'm just working on getting more time with kits i never used. The Anti-Tank kit is really challenging to use. I focus on the tanks/APCs mainly and I'm getting lower scores because of the less frequent kills, but when I'm attacked, it's me that kills them in 3-4 shots.
Still, I miss playing as a Medic.

I play less due to crappy gameplay, teammates, and every server running wake 25/7. I play every second day or so, but usually end up getting pissed off and stopping after an hour or so.
my only obsession is the freaking sniper badge (the only thing that keeps me going).. is it 5 IAR? is it 10 IAR..wtf is it!!?? but, yeah.. approaching burnout, especially with my one eye zeroed in on CoD II..
i m getting bored.. same old jets blasting the hell out of ground troops, same old chopper shooting everyone in sight, same old base raping, same old spawn raping, same old C4-ing a flag waiting for enemy to cap and go ka-boom, same old 2 shots to knock out a tank while one shot to take me out, same old bunny hoppers killing me in while jumping.. its getting boring.
was actually out of it for 1 complete week, and kinda anti-climax after patching to 1.03..

No, I wouldn't say I near a burnout.
On the contary. It's now, when I've gained a lot of experience, that I'm really starting to enjoy the game. I know what to avoid and how to get things. Other players are also getting better, not so much TKing and running into my Claymores as in the beginning....
If u r bored, try playing a differnt kit, a differnt map, a different weapon. Try go Sniper. If you worry about your stats all the time, you'll end up getting real bored, real fast, playing the same chopper/tank/map/position.
hehe... in 3 months time all the stat padders will be gone and the real players will be left

I want to play the fucking game, but cant cause EA fucking fails at making patches.
I've been loseing my spot in the overall rankings now for a while, I used to play like 6 hours a day but now this patch came out i play a hour at the most. Theres no inspiration, or point to play for a rank thats hours upon hours away with no reward at all. Whos idea was it to make the new rank a leap from 50k to 200k?
... you know, now that I think about it that's one of my problems too. After I reach the 50k mark it's going to take me a year or so to get to the next rank... bloody insane!JaMDuDe wrote:

I'm getting boored as hell right now. I've been playing almost everday since the release. And when the patch came i was like WOOOHOOO for about 4 days. Now i'm really boored. Going to play DoD:S and Dawn Of War now for a while. But dont worry i'll be back
I get bored with being killed all the time (it happens a lot) ... So from today, I'm going to spend more time walking around the map looking for funny objects (Cmdr_Dave) ... If I happen to see a RED, i'll kill it, if I happen to see TM in trouble, I'll assist to the best of my ability. And not to piss anyone off.... If they start a kick vote because of my antics, I'll just leave and go elsewhere
I said in another thread that the 200,000 global score required to get Second Lieutenant might just be a placeholder amount until officer ranks are fully implemented. You're likely to see the required score come down a bit in the next patch, just as the enlisted ranks did.JaMDuDe wrote:

the best thing tho is that i will have high speed internet, since the damn game came out, i have been packing my computer over to a friends house or going to the local gaming cafe...soon i will be able to play all i want...

I agree, take a week break and next time you get onit will be a blast again.
I'm nearing burnout. I had slowed down my overall playing but recently picked it back up (even before the patch) because I was nearing the 50k mark which used to be staff sarge. Then the new patch hit, and I continued to push because of all the vet badges I was grabbing and reaching Sergeant Major.
Now I have the seemingly common group of vet badges with long time or high kill requirements to get the next badge. I find it hard to push towards an award that will require 17 more tank hours, or 36 helo hours, 46 aviator hours, etc. Maybe I'll just take a break, but I'm still addicted.

I'm getting pretty bored with it myself. I mean, it's a good game and all....I just find I'm getting bored w/ games in general. I mean, I'm looking for a really goof RTS to play, and maybe a flight sim...but even these take seacond string to other things...like, reading a good book, kicking back with friends. I mean, you can only get so much digital mayhem before you start getting bored with the same old thing over and over again.
I switch off and on between bf2 and bf1942.
I go back and forth between bf2 and Splinter Cell. After playing the slow paced splinter cell I can't wait to get back on the battlefield.
When I do get tired of the game I give a few days and then play using a new Kit. I played to death the Anti-Tank kit so now I've been using the Speical Ops. Try doing something you haven't done yet. Like today all I did was blow up the enemies Artillery etc. It was fun. Happy Hunting....

If I am getting tired of anything in the game its the map repetition. Map releases need to come out quicker to add variety to play. As for getting bored with ground pounding, which doesn't get boring if you have a good squad against a decent enemy team, I have been trying my hand at flying lately. Getting used to pretty good tactics with transport helis. Even getting pretty decent gunner crews. Practicing my lazy 8's over target attack areas. Always a nice break from twitching ground combat.

ive just got over my burnout, didnt play for 3 days
I don't play BF2 much either. My computer can hardly play Solitair so I go to an iCafe every now and then.
I guess that makes me immune from BF2 Burnout syndrome.

I guess that is one of the bad parts about playing for stats/ranks and stuff like that is you can get burned out if that is what you play for. I played qwtf for about 6 years with almost no breaks for longer than a month on pretty much the same maps over and over. That never got old, in fact the only reason why I stopped playing was the community pretty much disintegrated. You can't really play an fps with the intent to reach a defined goal because that usually dosen't work too well. It was a great idea to add the stats, ranks and awards and stuff as just another thing to do but it is definately one of those things that shouldn't be your main reason for playing. I tend to just go out there with a general undefined goal, like kill everything that moves.
