The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has posted the last statements of over 400 death row inmates dating back to 1982.

Seen this sort of thing posted before, I'm amazed at how many are so calm and forgiving. Even the ones who still claim their innocence often say they forgive those who prosecuted them, and wish the victims family well, etc.

Murderers are people too, I guess. I didn't think they did stuff like this, but it's kind of creepy to read it all the way to the end, sometimes things like "Thanks Warden, that's all I have to say" is recorded...and you know what happens after that...

This is one is interesting, since most of the offenders seem Christian...

i think you posted it one of the ee chat threads rather create an individual thread. I remember it well, as i read them all only cos some of the last words were hilarious e.g. go pats! and shit like that. I also googled some of the names to read the background to the murder they had committed on wiki.

I remember one guy last words were to vote Obama as though he was against the death penalty. This guy is Earl Wesley Berry who died via lethal injection May 21 08.
