Going to be getting a new phone, opinions needed! (liking Nokia E63)

Well, I've had enough with my Samsung Pixon fail phone.

I've sent it back to be repaired all ready cause it kept freezing randomly and the touch function stopped rendering the phone useless. It took about 1 month to get it back(thanks Samsung). Now it's started doing the problem again, and I've had enough. I'll be taking it back and getting my €400 refund for it(well I fucking better be).

Now I'm looking at a new phone to buy, not sure what but things I need(want it to have). The quality of the camera doesn't matter.

#:Micro SD Card Slot
#:QWERTY keyboard
#:Very responsive
#:And just a general nice look
#:Less than €200
#:Prepay phone/Pay as you go
#:Long battery life

Things it can't have.

#:Touch screen(takes me too long to text with it)

Keeping all above in my mind I found this; what looks like a gem for half the price I paid for my failphone. The Nokia E63.

It seems really good from the reviews too. Not to mention the one I'd get would be Black which is nicer. So anyone any experience with this phone or any recommendations on something else to look for?

I would recommend an Android phone to you. I made a thread about the one that I just got and it's absolutely amazing. I personally have never liked the way Nokia does their GUIs and stuff, so I am a bit biased. You really should take a look into an Android phone. Motorola has one out now (a second pretty soon, but it looks like that will be CDMA only) and then HTC now has three of them on the market (G1, Magic/Ion and the Hero).

I gave the E63 a shot when recently changing phones, but I felt it to be too bulky for my pocket. It's too wide IMO, but still too small for the qwerty kb. The salesman himself had one and said he liked it very much. I went with the E75 instead (lé pic), and have been very happy with it so far.

I hate the plugs that come with sony. Does it have one of those earphones where the plug is as long as the iPod connector?

The problem is, the phones suggested are hard to find here in Ireland, and that Sony seems to be around €300, and E75 looks the same on ebay. The phones needs to support a vodafone sim card too! Do them Android phones do that?

I'm using an LG Crystal, i like it, has qwerty keyboard when horizontally used. The touch screen works suprisingly well and the transparent keypad is an engineering wonder. It actually is also a very good phone, the OS is very good for what is just a slide handset. This might be the best phone i've owned so far, previousley used Nokia's and Sony Ericsson's.

Just got a Nokia 5800 (I think) really good phone, my previous phones have been Sony Ericsson and i had endless problems with them, I went through 4 phones in ~6 months, randomly turning off, resetting the time/date most days, it was a fucking pain.

Fuck me, seem these Carphone warehouse wankers aren't playing ball -.- They say, they will only offer an exchange if the phone becomes faulty 3 times.. Hmm, I'm wondering what to do next. Really I gotta get rid of it, I'm thinking get it fixed again??? And if it is fixed and works ok(which I don't think it will) I'll put it up on ebay, it's in great condition so I should get around 180-200 for it

I've always had problems with a Nokia phone.

I have the 5800 right now, and it's rather rubbish. Freezes, is slow, and have quite a few glitches.

Why get an iphone? The only thing it has over the android phones graphical power. Not many people play full 3d games on their phone. Android has all the apps and more. Best part is that you can do real multitasking on the phone. Then our add in that Apple does not allow devs to duplicate functions whereas I can download new keyboards and other stuff and Google doesn't give a shit.

Whatever phone you get, get one that you can do full HTML browsing on. I think Androids and the iPhone are the only ones that can do that well that are available in Europe. You can also look into winmo phones from htc.

The Magic is available on Vodaphone, though.
