Want to do something good for the masses? Vote against state mandated classes. It's bad enough as it is that we have to deal with the structure of current classes that have fuck all to do with learning - remember, regurgitate, tests. But taking classes that have nothin to do with your major- or interests in high school is a waste of all of our lives. Learn to deal with bullshit, that's all school teaches us.

Rant aside - fight the man, but not over hair.

Just wondering, would you be able get your hands on the school rulebook?

Find the ruling in question and see if you can get around it.  Post it here even. I don't see how hair color is offensive and/or inappropriate, seems they chose to make an issue of it just cause.

That sucks, this high school I graduated from in california this year has implemented new strict rules:
1. Girl's can't wear anything that would attract attention to their "cleavage", if so, they are forced to wear a school t shirt until the end of the day(DRESS CODED!)
2. Wearing V-Necks is considered gang-affliated, which follows to:
3. Straight Edge is considered a gang, if seen saying your straight edge you will be sent to the office, just like if you were saying you were in bloodz or cripz they would treat you the same way.
I'm fucking serious, this is my high school that I just graduated from this summer. Place has gone to shit.

I don't usually bring books home, especially not today.
Though from what I remember from randomly reading it in detention last term, it's quite detailed, almost painting a clear picture in your head.
But like I said before, nobody sticks by these rules and they've given up yonks ago trying to enforce them.

Like that in most countries. I would have told the teacher unless as a pupil you are doing something that affects your education and learning of yourself and others around you, your highlight shouldn't have done a thing. The school only done it for public image. Tell your folks or whatever and go straight to the principal and tell him he's a dick.

I doubt it was for public image, cause quite literally, a vast majority of students have astonishing hairstyles/cuts.
Unless they were like, I dunno, extra enforcing the rules today. I'll see if any other of my friends got talked to about their hair.

And true, I wasn't disrupting any learning or peace within the classroom. Hell I was looking out the window thinking of more ideas for a technical drawing task when the teacher was like, "You, headmaster's office, now."

Then everyone was like, "Oooooooooo." which is why I particularly don't want to redo my hair because if the prick teachers bust me again, it'l be the same humiliating shit.

And yeah, I was going to call the headmaster an arseface when he sent me home, but I figured I'd leave it for the parents to throw insults, if any.

What I would do is:

Go to the principal tomorrow or whatever with the same hairstyle untouched. Tell him you want to review the policy on hair styles. Tell him/her if he/she doesn't stop being a dick you will take this story to the newspaper and humiliate the school. Tell him/her that unless he/she intends to bust everyone on their hair styles that he/she needs to be leniant.

"Hairstyles, in keeping with the concept of Uniform, should tend towards being natural and conservative." Does your school have a whole uniform (IE: Top, pants, specific shoes, socks etc) or just like, a tshirt and you can wear whatever else you want?

Heck, if your school has a student paper or newsletter or something, get them to run a story and get people to petition it.

Our school does have a designated uniform yeah, including summer & winter variants.

And yeah I might go ask for an explanation tomorrow, and possibly threaten him with media, that is if my dad doesn't get to him first.

To be honest, a single highlight is still conservative for me. I went to a privat school (extra strict on everything) and even they had some leniency on hairstyles.
