is the card overheating?
is the cable secure to the monitor?
have you upgraded drivers recently?
have you tried uninstalling the drivers and then use driver cleaner
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Driver-Clea … d-745.html
then reinstall the graphics card drivers?

and it could be your power supply or graphics card itself are going bad?

This. Your video cable is cut or not fully connected.

Also, your monitor could well have turned gay, in which case you'll have to send him to an American priest

The pins on the connection are bent. Friend had a similar problem, fixed it by bending it back into place.

I had that problem with my old one a few years ago. No joke, I kicked the comp and it worked fine (resettled the cable).

you never have anything nice to say, do you?

i think alexb is on to something - i've seen what you describe when the pins don't connect.

You guys do know that VGA and DVI cables have screws on them so they don't go loose?

on top of that, he pretends to be the bee's knees at tech.

in any case, if you want to bend pins back carefully i can only suggest the tip of a mechanical pencil.  which, ironically, is a technique most known for bending CPU pins back...
