Battlefield 2: Complete Collection on Steam

Not really any use for us, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway. EA have just put BF2 Complete collection on Steam. It should no doubt bring in a few new players, which is never a bad thing .

Shame EA went for such a high price (It's £7 on Amazon compared to £15 on Steam), but nevermind.

Funny how you still can't run BF2 as a non-steam game, though, since PB kicks you for the overlay.

I tried it about a month ago and didn't have any issues.

I wouldn't mind being able to attach my BF2 serial but I think that decision has to be made by EA.

About the Game

The Battlefield 2: Complete Collection features the following:

    * Battlefield 2 (v1.50)
    * Battlefield 2: Special Forces
    * Battlefield 2: Euro Forces
    * Battlefield 2: Armored Fury
Oh that's cheap, they're using EF and AF as a selling point when it infact comes with the 1.50 patch.

good point. lets tell them to make them charge for the boosters again so you think theyre a legit selling point

Oh, those sneaky EA bastards!
I wonder if people who're buying the Complete Collection on Steam will get their veteran status here, i.e. see a medal light up, which is the case for the retail version AFAIK.
Right now, the boosters from the 1.50 won't give you veteran status, as you have no key.

If not, the Steam version would actually only be an overpriced Deluxe Edition.

I've been using the Steam Overlay with BF2 for the past month with no problems. Make sure you have the latest PB, that's all I can think of.

you know the complete edition that you can buy in-store right now is also a "overpriced Deluxe Edition. "

Yes, but with that you should be able to register and get veteran status for all boosters and extensions, since it contains the keys in the box.
I have no idea if that is the case with the Steam version.
