How do you remove the recycle bin icon on my desktop?
I want to be able to access it but I don't want it on my desktop.

If you want no icons just right click > view > show desktop icons

I tried that, did fuck all...
I did everything right, and yeah - XP.
I want some icons, just not that one.
you probably have to make that registry key read only after you remove the entry so windows can't re-create it.
I got it sorted by fucking around with the registry keys, thanks anyway.
Do yourself a favor and download tweakUI anyways, it does a lot more of that type of stuff and a lot more easily than messing with the registry keys.

just do to personalize or how it is called on xp, then desktop (2nd tab) and then change desktop (button at the bottom) and unselect the trashcan

yeah unfortunately you can't do it in XP like you can in vista. i thought that at first too, but then found out xp doesn't have that as one of the options.haffeysucks wrote:
