My internet's running slowly

SEREVENT: MASSIVE G STAR; +605|6367|Birmingham, UK

So about a week ago the internet... broke, and Virgin said they'll send us a new modem, so it arrived the next day and when it finally got working after some problems with the router, and ever since we've had the new modem the internet has been running really slow, on both the computers.

So, is there anything i can do? Thanks.

i vote signal problem. it would be a hell of a coincidence if his modem failed and the dns servers were acting up after he installed his new one.

on second thought, its prolly a modem config problem...

Could be a crappy modem.
Could be a crappy cable or connection, when it rains our speed goes down because the connection in the street is in a hole which fills with water
Is it a wireless router? Could be someone nearby is using the channel also.

I meant is it something to do with the wires in it or something i do to the computer?
