Goddamn it'd be so cool to meet up with some of you guys, head to a firing range, fire of a few rounds, and chat with people who actually understand memes.

it's not the glock that gets me; it's everyone that owns a glock. they all think glocks are the greatest pistols ever and refuse to even entertain any sort of debate to the contrary. "you wish you had one." how many times have i heard that from a glock owner?! actually, i don't, because then i'd turn into a douche like you.ICCULUS wrote:

Nah, I think it's cool if that's the only thing that needs to be done to it for me to have it. Deactivation should mean that the moving parts work but it doesn't fire (I.e. removing the firing pin). Besides, it can be reactivated if I at some point get a membership at a shooting club and would like to take it into use. As deactivation is the only remote way I gan get granpas officer sidearm to myself instead of it being sold in the police auction to someone with a permit, I'll have to just deal with it.chuyskywalker wrote:
That kinda sucks. I'd not want it deactivated -- kinda ruins that whole "yes, it was in WWII" effect, ya know?DonFck wrote:
After his death less than a year ago, the cops contacted my father about it, and of course he was forced to take it to the po-po. There's now a pending application for deactivation and a permit for me to have it as memorabilia.
Like, when you bring your young dog back from the vet and he just looks at you, "wtf man, I was licking those! *sadeyes*"

I totally get the neutering comparison, though.
Also, if/when I get it back, the two clips better be included!

be careful, "deactivation" can also mean welding a steel rod into the barrel along with removing the firing pinDonFck wrote:
