Re-opened. Just as long as it stays to names and no hints on how to get illegal stuff. All these sites are still completely legal to access and only certain uses of them make them illegal to browse.
Btjunkie.

So we can list all the sites we use?
THink about all the sites that you download stuff from, on every site, there are quite a few legal things to download as well, which can imply that you're simply using it as a means to download certains things faster than if you had to get it through another download site (like a beta or what not). The whole legality surrounding TPB was because of certain files hosted, you can still access the site and not be doing anything illegal at all.Winston_Churchill wrote:

On some sites I agree, yes. But most (movie sites for example) there are maybe 5-10 movies that are freely available compared to the tens of thousands of illegal ones.Zimmer wrote:

Usually sites have a policy of not hosting freely available stuff too
However; I agree with keeping this thread open for discussion, just not with allowing us to post the actual site names.
The sites you use, though, can't even by accessed by a normal user, so naming them I don't really think is a problem. I could be wrong and other mods may disagree, but the fact that it isn't open access and the files aren't freely shown everywhere and it hasn't been classed as "completely and utterly" illegal makes me think that it's acceptable to post up. Now, that those sites want you to post it up is another matter, some don't like it.Winston_Churchill wrote:

There was a discussion a few months back about what.cd and stuff, and nothing happened to that, so I think it should be fine.
Who doesnt know what.cd though? I guess its considered a gray area of the law, they're usually more concerned about public trackers.
Btw get on IRC Spaniard

I'll be on IRC in 1 hour. I can't access it from work.Winston_Churchill wrote:

If its ok for Jeff and mods, its cool. But we just don't want anyone problems. Thats why the rule is there.
