What about all the designers complaining still about Apple not giving a matte option on their stuff like they did 2 years ago?

How is with "upgrade-abillity" with iMacs? Do they use the same components as their laptops?

What about all the idiotic Mac users who like to poke their LCDs with their fingers and then claim for a new LCD on warranty?

That's why the change happened. They put a big fucking bit of glass in front of all LCDs. Which, imo, is fucking stupid since loads of their market use the machines for graphics and that glass ruins them for that. They've pretty much just moved themselves out of the premium display market like complete retards.

You can change the RAM in them.

That's it.

They use SO-DIMMs if that's what you mean.

Far worse than that is that, the standard keyboard that now ships with Macs is the tiny BT one.

But you can't change the storage? Cos iMacs don't ship with SSDs or do they?

No, you can't get an iMac (at least not the 27") with any kind of SSD. I thought you could change the HDDs out of them with relative ease (what a Mac-loving friend told me), but I have no idea on that one, tbh.

Berster, they really had people poking LCDs and getting warranty exchanges on them? hahahahahaha, wow.

BTW - about the keyboard and mouse thing: I looked at the 27" iMac and you can still get the old Mighty Mouse (now illegal for Apple to use that name, though they still use it on their site) and the old keyboards at no extra cost (for once).

I have never bought an Apple product.

I never intend to do so either. At least not with their current marketing ideas.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Revised Apple products

So what do you guys think of the revised and sold as new, where the only 'new' thing is the pricetag, stuff that just went on sale?

I find it pathetic that Apple just compares their new products to the older models of the same product.  It's gives the illusion as if this new product is the best thing to hit the market; when in reality it's just some new hardware in the same package.

A very sneaky marketing technique though.

the new mouse is okey, need to do more research. i have to admit, i dont like that gay ass small keyboard. the older keyboards were much better because they had numbers on the side and the top . the new keyboard is a chopped down version of what i have... epic fail there.

the difference between the new imacs and the imacs from last year  are

1) the screen is larger and its EXACTLY from one end of the chasis to the other.
2) bigger HD, CPU, ram, video card etc.
3) new gay ass keyboard and a decent new mouse.

thats not much of a change from my imac i have at home. even though i use PC regularly at work. im done spending money at a local apple store. if the apple products arent that much different than what  i have, ill use that money for something else.

i can understand dropping $1400.0 on a new imac shown today if i had a crappy g4 or a mac mini. the new imacs arent all that different than last years version other than new k/m and engine... if apple is asking me to drop the bucks on a repackage desktop, they can jump in a lake for all i care.

Probably because they want people to use them as TVs, too?
