You guys are going to love this. I bought a 5870, but as I'm apparently incapable of measuring the free space in my case properly it didnt fit by a long shot. Not that some metal was going to stop me though:

Lol, I've had to mod cases too to fit GPUs too. I remove the whole HDD bay.

Use that elastic band you use for sewing (ask your mom for some ) to mount the HDD in a 5.25 inch bay. Gets rid of the HDD vibration noise too

If you'd got a hack saw or some tin snips you could have just cut out the bit the graphics card fouled on and you could have stuck your drives back in place.

Well that's a stupid and long idea. He did what I would've done. Fuck it, doesn't exactly matter much. A case is just a case, doesn't change shit if he bends that bit.

It's not fucking Formula 1 where every small tiny detail has a purpose and needs to be functioning at 100%

Well except for his hard disks he's pretty much screwed for that I think.
