I lol'd at the title "Atheist" above Dawkins' name, as if that's his greatest accomplishment.

I didn't think he was shouting at him.

O'Reilly is so stupid.
Not stupid.. loud, obnoxious, and playing to the crowd.. yea.

To suggest that not turning to Christianity because science can't explain something is Fascism, is such a completely and utterly stupid statement, whether he is playing to to crowd or not.
He needs his moral compass to be set by the Bible and thinks the world would turn to anarchy should we teach science in the classroom.
You can't get much more ignorant than that.

So that falls under playing to the crowd.
You're counting on him truly believing that. His listeners love to hear words like fascism ..rar!
He did not say that the world would turn to anarchy if we taught science in class.

"Science doesn't advance the human condition in any moralistic way and Jesus did. If everybody turned to Jesus Christ we'd have peace on Earth, love your brother, we'd almost be an idealistic civilisation."
He certainly says that we'd all be living in a rainbow gumdrop land if we all believed in Jesus, and thanks to science we aren't.
Dawkins is God.
He is speaking very broadly. That is not the same as accept Jesus or it's anarchy. Did you ignore him saying present everything?AussieReaper wrote:

And again.. he has an audience to perform for.
Not stupid.

It's sad that these kind of opinion shows often get misinterpreted as reliable or indeed fact. Of course he is entitled to his opinion, but the fact that he has to spout this bollocks for his audience in order for them to self-justify their close minded beliefs is a little ridiculous.
Orielly: Am I sure jesus is God? No. ..You don't have to turn anywhere, just present it. .. not turn "discuss" Present all the alternatives that are legitimate ..adam and eve, you don't have to do that. That is for a biblical theology class.
Seemed open minded to me.

That God created the universe in 6 days is not legitimate.Kmarion wrote:

He did not say that. For the most part he was talking about the option of a creator in the classroom.AussieReaper wrote:

Yeah he's "all powerful" and can do anything but he needed 6 whole days? and then he had to have a rest? lolAussieReaper wrote:

Also how can something be measured by days before the earth even started spinning?
Full of plot holes that bible...
Many if not most Christians view that Bible as allegorical. .. They started seeing it that way back in Galileo's time.

Yea they did. Religion HAS stood in the way of science. However, that does not exclude the existence of a creator. It's just religious leaders trying to hold on to power.Dauntless wrote:

How much is there really to say on the idea of intelligent design?
Some big guy who we have never encountered and probably never will encounter created us for a reason which we are not aware of. It sounds like they know less than science to be honest.

You present a creator as an alternative, while still doing everything that you do to explore. As Hawking put it " A theory of everything means knowing the mind of God". .. although he was probably trying to sell books when he wrote that .
The Catholic Church teaches a theistic evolution, which accepts evolution as scientific theory. Proponents see no reason why God could not have used an evolutionary process in forming the human species.

The idea of God is not stupid, religion is. Don't bring religion into the classroom.
I agree. Especially the retribution/consequence stuff. *public schoolsCanadianLoser wrote:
